Testing Update

Spokane Fire no longer uses PST scores for hiring. Moving forward, we will conduct written testing in-house on an invitation basis only.

Qualified applicants will receive an email via info@governmentjobs.com inviting them to take the written Civil Service test. The test will be conducted in-person. We will not be offering any remote testing. You will have the option to self schedule the test on one of the following dates:

Tuesday, July 7th, 2026

Wednesday, July 8th, 2026

Friday, July 10th, 2026 – FULL

Saturday, July 11th, 2026

Tuesday, July 14th, 2026

Wednesday, July 15th, 2026

Testing dates and times  are subject to change. Additional sessions may be made available depending on the number of applicants and testing space available.

We will continue to accept verifiable CPAT results from any IAFF-licensed provider.

Salary & Benefits

Entry-level firefighters start at step 1 pay and increase to the next step on their work anniversary for the first 3 years. After five years of service, firefighters receive another step with longevity pay increases every 5 years after that. Firefighters working for a special unit or position will also receive a percentage increase for working in that specialty.
